We talk food, we talk events, we even talk about the importance of getting out of the office and into the great outdoors, but I feel we don't talk enough about intimacy. An important aspect in all our lives that should never be a faux pas discussion. As with all products, there are the good, the bad and the ugly. I want to shed some light on the good–a Klean-Slate friendly company called Sustain Natural.Read More
I have been a huge promoter of mushroom supplements ever since I went on a two week, fast-paced, multiple flights, 30 kids packed into a charter bus for half the time, international FUN FILLED trip and I was the only one who didn’t get sick.
It's been 4 years since that trip and I still talk about it regularly. I believe in order to promote a product you have to try it, test it, understand it and believe in it. I was my own test subject and I believe in the powers of this super food.
We share more DNA with mushrooms then we do plants! Crazy sauce.Read More
Extra research will be needed on my end, but it has come to my attention that a few local, known to be fresh juice shops, are using a heating method to preserve and elongate shelf life with their juices. We know this is the case when it comes to store-bought options, but for fresh juice shops charging a premium, well, that’s a no-no.
This helps the companies with their overhead, but it diminishes the benefits of the juice.
What’s the biggest problem?
In high school it seems to be a right of passage to dissect in science class. I think what I remembered most was how I felt and how it smelled versus a ground-breaking scientific takeaway. My lackluster response was not worth how I felt afterwards.
I think its unnecessary–an outdated cruel method.
It’s time to upgrade.

If you are looking for a great caffeine substitute that still packs an energy punch, try adding some maca. Maca comes in a powder form and has a malty flavor. I use it in smoothies, desserts and hot drinks like the one above.Read More
I may have grown up in a house where my dad was a chef (definitely not a vegan one) and I do feel very naive for saying this, but I didn’t realize how much fun and engaging a cooking class could be! It’s only taken me…oh…almost 30 years!Read More
All veggie burgers are not created equal! There are some fantastic brands out there (like Hilary’s Eat Well) that take the time to research and create higher-quality frozen veggie patties then some of the most popular brands out there, like MorningStar and Boca. I remember years ago when I first tested the veggie patty waters and I became a big MorningStar fan. It’s almost a right of vegetarian/vegan passage.Read More
If you think one person can’t make a difference, there is at least one man who can single-handedly prove you wrong.
Jadev Payeng “The Forest Man”, has planted 1,360 acres (larger than Central Park) since 1970 and the momentum he has constructed hasn’t stopped since then. The forest that he has built, including live animals such as; tigers, elephants, deer’s and rhinos, is on a sandbar in the middle of the world’s largest river located in North East India.
This extraordinary piece of land could be gone in the next 15-20 years due to soil erosion. With this, Jadev still continues to exert the effort to make the “shift”. He believes he can save his land and I believe, with effort, we can work to save ours.
He is but one man and the world is a big place, but with more individuals like this, we can create the “shift” right along with him.
The beauty this man possesses brought tears to my eyes.
Watch the video and be as inspired as I was.
It’s only 16 min long, but the takeaway will last much much longer.
